Almond hulls are a nutritious byproduct of California’s almond industry, for every pound of almonds grown, roughly two pounds of livestock feed is produced. Their value helps offset processing costs for almond growers while providing cattle producers with a high-quality, locally sourced feed ingredient. Expanding the use of almond hulls helps keep more value within California agriculture while making better use of resources and reducing reliance on feed transported from outside the region.
